Mini had a rough night with the Aquatennial fireworks AND a thunderstorm with lightening rolling in. This may be the most frightening night of her little dog life, but she instinctively grabbed her special duck toy and found sanctuary in the confines of our safe closet. Smart girl.

After a sweltering 6.5 mile bike ride in107 degree heat we went to swim with our good friends The Pelachs! We were saddened to find Mini with swollen ears when we got home. Poor Mini was bit by something the other day and the swelling moved from one eyelid to her ears! Off to the Emergency Vet! Then a quick scramble to change for the Guthrie...scrambling in this weather was quite the feat.

We went on a 17 mile bike ride through the beautiful Twin Cities. After crossing the Mississippi River into St Paul we connected with Chuck and Elsa for an impromptu family bike ride! Benjamin took a spill on his bike, but fortunately landed at the feet of a kindly bike repairman! This man reassembled Benjamin's bike, but his pride was beyond repair.

We had an amazing time at White Iron Lake in Ely, MN yet again. This is our fourth trip to Wolf Point Cabin and every year we fall more in love with each other and with nature. There is no better escape to remind us of what is important in this world.
